Chapter 3
Writer: Steph

April

Massu was online complaining to Anzu how Kamenashi kidnapped Tissue. And for a while he feared for the pitiful life of Kamenashi Kazuya. Anzu had remained silent for nearly a minute, which was very unlike her. Massu immediately called Tissue who in turned called Anzu.

She was pissed. Really pissed. No one treats her friends like that. She began gathering her timetables to check what time was certain subjects and how she could punish Kamenashi for pulling such a trick on Tissue like that. She was so into what she intended to do that it was only probably on the 6th ring that she realised Tissue was on the phone, waiting anxiously for Anzu to pick her phone up. "Thank God you picked the phone up! Are you okay?" Tissue bit her finger nervously. "I'm fine." Anzu answered nonchalantly. "I swear, if you didn't pick the phone up on the 6th time i called you, i personally am heading to your place to check on you." "I'm fine, Ti, no worries." Anzu reassured Tissue who let out a gush of air.

"What are you doing now?" Tissue asked cautiously. "Making someone pay back for what he has done to you. What did he say to make you cry?" "Nothing." Tissue gulped. She didn't know whether answering Anzu's question would save or kill Kamenashi, in either way, he was dead for kidnapping Tissue and letting Anzu finding out. But she also didn't want Anzu to find out depressing things. Anzu was currently emotionally unstable. "Anyway, I'd be sleeping early. I'll see you in school tomorrow." Anzu told Tissue. "Night." Tissue smiled and praying that Anzu doesn't kill anyone.

Anzu ended the call, taking a dart into her hands and then tossing at the dart board. Yuuto knocked on the door. "Ne-chan." He said in a singsong manner. Anzu smiled and hugged him. "What are you angry about ne-chan?" He asked. Anzu teased his hair. "Nothing you should be worried about. Isn't it late? Shouldn't you be sleeping?" "I want you to tuck me in." He murmured, snuggling against Anzu's shoulder. Anzu chuckled.

She knew what her brother was doing, he wanted her to not be angry at this minial things. "Alright, big baby, climb on my back." She told him. He grinned and climbed onto her back. His chest raised softly as he crossed his arms around her neck and she raced to his room as fast as she could, making him laugh hysterically as she shook him off her back once they arrived at his bed. "Night, ne-chan." He smiled and yawned. "Lights out sleepy head." She told him and kissed his forehead. He nodded and switched his light off.

Her plans should relatively work easy tomorrow. All she needed was Kamenashi to be alone, she grinned and slept easily. Her mom woke her up early the next morning. "Anzu, daddy and I will be away for 3 weeks. Business related. You know how it is." Her mom told her. Anzu's eyes instantly watered like a leaking tap. "Mommy." She murmured. "Hush, why do you always cry when we leave for long distant travels, I'd call you every 2 days, you know that. And if you want, we'll try to arrange for online conference, okay?" Her mom asked wiping Anzu's tears away.

"Where will you be at this time?" "We're stopping at Australia for a while, probably 4 days, then the US for a week or two then the remaining days, daddy and I will be on a little honeymoon in the Alps." "Becareful." Anzu murmured. "Morning, dear peaches." Her dad came in. A new set of tears streamed down Anzu's face. "I see her usual routine of persuasian has started. We'll call and be safe and will make an online conference for you okay?" Her dad hugged her. "Ne-chan." "Oh, gosh even Yuuto is awake." Her mum chuckled. "You two be good and Yuuto make sure your sister doesn't get into trouble, you know how troublesome she can be." "Mom, i'm older than he is!" Anzu protested. They laughed. "We'll see you soon."

Her dad kissed their foreheads and grabbed the bags. Anzu and Yuuto watched them leave in the taxi. "It's just you and me huh, Yuu-kun." Anzu whispered. Yuuto hugged her. "We got another two hours to sleep." Yuuto yawned. "Okay, but don't give me troubles later." "I won't." Yuuto said as he climbed the staircase and went to his room. Anzu tossed and turned in her bed, managing only half an hour's worth of sleep. Yuuto on the other hand overslept. Anzu was awake and cooking when she noticed that Yuuto wasn't awake.

"Sumomo Yuuto! You better be awake or you'd get it!" Anzu exclaimed loud enough for him to hear. She could hear him a few seconds later, running to the toilet. chuckling, she made waffles and flavoured milk shake. "Uwa!" Yuuto said as he buttoned his shirt and combed his hair. Anzu grinned. "Mom left a note saying that there's enough cash in our bank and i can use the car whenever necessary including the usage of credit cards, no overspending though." Anzu grinned. Yuuto raised his hands that held the fork and knife but no sound came out of his mouth as he gave a waffle grin. Anzu smiled and watched Yuuto eat. She felt happy that he was. It sounds cliche but she loved her family more than anything, and their emotions usually will reflect on her.

After wearing her usual clothes and accessories, she made sure Yuuto got to his school and promised to cycle with him later, after school. She hid herself in a corner. Kamenashi's car should pass by any moment. She grabbed two eggs that she managed to save from this morning's breakfast. She spotted his car and grin. He was driving his car today. 'Perfect' she thought to herself. The first egg she toss softly landed on his windscreen. His car stopped to a screeching halt and he got up fuming. "Who did that?" He yelled. "Make sure i don't find you or you'd... Oh." Anzu stood up with the remaining egg. He tried to get into the car but Anzu had tossed in time to hit the side of his neck.

"Eww! Sumomo Anzu you are so paying for that later!" He yelled. She chuckled. "We'll see."She smirked evilly. He gulped and got into his car while she biked away. Tissue spotted a happy Anzu who had an evil grin. She even smiled at Akanishi who in turn just stared at her. Ueda shook his head. That grin meant that she did something she was happy about, and a missing Kamenashi was not a good sign. Soon the bell rang and Kamenashi was still missing.

The teacher began marking attendance when Kamenashi sashayed into the class, fully bathed with fresh clothes. He glared at the happy Anzu and sat in his place. Tissue looked at Anzu who merely tapped her pencil from side to side. During homeroom period, Ueda sent a note to Anzu. (What did you do to Kamenashi? He hasn't spoken since he came into class and he is giving you his death glare. You shouldn't take his anger lightly.) Anzu wrote back :(He shouldn't have messed with my friends or take me lightly.) Ueda gulped. She wasn't happy looking now. She was positively pissed. Jin wasn't caring, Ueda noticed his gaze was on Trangie, a girl who was in every way almost perfect.

During recess, Ueda pulled Anzu aside. "What did he do?" Ueda asked. "Nothing to me." Anzu replied coldly. "Anzu, don't do anything funny." "Since when have i done anything funny?" She asked back. "Anzu i mean it. Kamenashi isn't talking. That means he is mighty pissed." "Well so am I, Ueda." She exclaimed. The whole class looked at her. "What the hell are all of you looking at?" She muttered underneath her breath and left. Tissue ran out of the class, calling Anzu. Massu and Kei came near the class worried.

Anzu climbed to the roof and over the fence. She lay on the edge of the roof and sighed. She couldn't remember what triggered her first fight with Kamenashi. They were barely friends, it was just that she had a crush on his friend, Akanishi. He was quite the playboy then. Girls falling at Akanishi's feet at the tender age of 12. And when Kamenashi found out, he was furious, he kept demanding to know why she liked him. She never answered. He got angry and pushed her. She boxed him and that was the end of a pretty normal and mutual friendship.

She stared at the sky when icy cold water splashed on her. Jin and Kazuya laughed as they pointed at her. She sat up and coughed. Some of the water had gone into her nose and now she was choking. Suddenly her passage closed. Kazuya stopped laughing and noticed she was trying to breathe and she was wheezing. "Anzu stop being funny." He chuckled uncertainly. Jin stopped laughing. He noticed how her hand grabbed her skirt tightly and she was wheezing hard. She vomitted shortly and gradually stopped wheezing. The both boys breathed in relief.

Suddenly Anzu grabbed the fence and began climbing. That signalled that they should run. Anzu ran a short distance and coughed. She went to wash up and then slowly went down the stairs. She felt slow today. Her throat hurt and her stomach was empty. Ueda saw her and approached her slowly. "Are you okay?" He asked. Anzu nodded. "No you're not." Ueda said as he brought her closer. "You look pale." He noted. "I bet Kamenashi and Akanishi have told the entire class by now." Anzu muttered bitterly. "Well, sorta. Kamenashi told me quietly that you were choking and wheezing then you vomitted." "That prick started it!" Anzu exclaimed softly. "I know, we need to get you something to eat." He told her as he pulled her to the canteen and got her bread. He watched her eat and in relief. But something was bothering her and she refused to say anything.

"So what is wrong?" "Nothing." "Come on, I'm your friend, aren't I?" "Yeah." She answered. "Well?" He asked her again. He watched her with concern as she lowered her bread and looked at it. "My parents are overseas for 3 weeks." Ueda frowned. He didn't understand how that would be affecting her moods. Then the school paged her. She ran back to class and saw that Yuuto was in her class, with a bruise on his left cheek and his clothes slightly tattered. She grabbed her bag and pulled him to the stair well.

"Tell me what happened." She insisted. He shook his head. "Yuuto, who did this to you?" "I don't wanna." "Why?" She asked gently, cleaning his wound. His tears rolled down gently. "They said you were such a tomboy, shouldn't be called Anzu and said some mean things about you." He murmured. Anzu smiled and wiped his tears away. "Alright, hush, tell me who are these people?" "They're from NewS High." "Where did you go, Yuuto? Tell me." She insisted. He looked at the floor. "The gang were going to the arcades during recess." "You slipped out of school?" She asked him. He nodded. "They saw my name and asked if i was your younger brother, i told them yes. They laughed and said..." He drawled off.

"What is it?" Anzu murmured as she hugged her brother. "That if you needed to learn how to be a girl, they will be more than willing to teach you. I wanted to protect your name!" He protested. "You've done well, Yuuto but never skip school with your friends, ever again!" She warned him. He nodded. "Now, tell me who were they?" "The boys that hang out with Uchi Hiroki but he didn't say anything." "How did you know their names?" "They asked me if i knew him. I told them no so they gave me this bruise."

"Lies! My brother will never do that." "And my brother will never tell me a lie, Trangie." Anzu replied with a cold stare. "And as a sister, how would you feel if your brother was protecting you and then got beaten up?" "Miserable." "Thank you." Anzu smiled and kissed her brother's forehead. "I'm sending you home, then i'm dealing with the boys and no buts. They want me to be female, i'd show them what female means." Anzu muttered between gritting her teeth. She bowed at Trangie who bowed in returned. "And Trangie, if your brother is what you claim to be, tell him to meet me outside the school in 15 minutes time." Anzu told her. She nodded.

Anzu re-entered the class and told the teacher that she needed to send her brother back home. She allowed me seeing the state of Anzu's brother. They got our bikes and she sent him back. Anzu quickly changed into jeans and tank top. "Where are you friends, Uchi Hiroki?" Anzu asked. "Look, i tried to stop him from hitting your brother." "I'm looking for names, Hiroki." Anzu frowned. He sighed. "It was just a tease." "How about if Kamenashi said that to you about your sister, what would you do?" Anzu asked him. He shut his mouth and frowned. "My brother protected me, and he was younger than you." Anzu protested. Uchi Hiroki nodded.

He gave the current location they were at. They were bullying a younger boy. Anzu picked up a variation of stones. "So this is what bored rich boys do to fulfil their time?" Anzu exclaimed. One of them released the bullied boy. "Well well, isn't it the tomboy Anzu... You look better without uniform." He grinned, tipping Anzu's chin. Anzu boxed him in the nose. "My nose, guys get her!" He yelled, groaning as blood rained down his uniform. She threw the stones with great accuracy, hitting mostly either on the head or groin. Most of them ran as she threw more stones. "Wait until my parents hear about this." "Wait 'til i spread the news that you were beaten by a girl using stones. We'll see who has larger shame. Be anywhere near my brother or anyone i know, and I'll personally make sure I do more damage that no one can help you with." Anzu threatened. "I swear by my blood." She pushed him. He ran off with a glare and hit a lamp post.

School finished and Kamenashi came out to see Anzu cycling by at breakneck speed. Suddenly she spun the bike around and picked up a pebble tossing at his shoulder. "Sumomo Anzu!" He yelled as he chased her bike and got into his car. Tissue, Massu, Kei and Ueda shook their heads. Trangie greeted her brother who suddenly gave her a hug and teased her hair. "Tissue, shopping later. Meet me in Shibuya." Anzu yelled as she circled around Tissue, Massu and Kei, giving them a headache and laughed when Kamenashi tried to chase her. A car is not as manouverable as a bicycle. No one noticed the icy glares that stayed on Anzu's smiling face and Trangie's close relationship with Uchi Hiroki. No one knew he was in pain and did to relieve his pain. He was in a war with the world.

Tissue wore her normal clothes as Kei insisted she should go out and have fresh air once in a while. Anzu approached Tissue quietly from a side, hushing her giggling brother behind her. "Boo!" "Anzu!" Tissue yelled and chased Anzu a short distance. They both walked together. Tissue noticed how Anzu kept checking on her younger brother as he pointed at things he wanted and talked about as they walked around window shopping. Suddenly the slick floor made Tissue slip and fell. "Ow..." Tissue murmured as she rubbed her butt. "No wonder you slipped, your shoes are worn out." Anzu told Tissue. "I guess, new shoes cost money and..." "Say no more..." Anzu grinned darkly. "Yuuto tell me which shop you wanna buy shoes at." "There." Yuuto pointed. He pointed at a Nike shop. "Let's go. Up." Anzu help Tissue.

They headed to the Nike shop where at every pair of shoe Tissue scrutinised the price tag and protested as Anzu made Tissue try on a pair that she deemed fit for her. "No complaints, try." Anzu poked Tissue. Yuuto chuckled and ran around the shop, trying new things and shoes. "Ne-chan, i want this." "Don't you have a similar pair?" "Oh... It's in the box." "I think i better get you a new cupboard." Anzu chuckled and tapped his head. "This suits you better." Anzu pointed at the current pair that Tissue was wearing. It was the new walking shoes and it was very feminine looking and suited Tissue well. "How much is it?" "!58000 yen." The shop assistant answered Anzu. "Done." Anzu said as she took Tissue's old pair and placed it in the box that had contained the Nike shoes. "Anything else?" Anzu asked Yuuto who jumped on Anzu's back. "Nope. Though, let's get the ID bands, you and I can wear the same ones." "Go get 'em." Anzu told him. He jumped off Anzu's back and quickly ran to get the kids' and adults' one. Tissue stood next to Anzu. "Thanks." Tissue murmured softly. Anzu looked over at Tissue who had her head hanging low and sniffing. "Aww... Don't cry. Take it as an early present. Yuuto, hurry up." Yuuto smiled and ran back with 2 packs of the ID band. Tissue realised there is more to Anzu's cold exterior. The way she hugged her brother showed how warm she was and how much she had to offer if people learn to see beyond the cold exterior.

Chapter 02: Tissue's Chapter [June 13, 2006 @ 7:44pm]

Chapter 2
Writer: Linh

“Moon Tiara, Boomerang!” Kei did the Sailor Moon poise and jumped on Tissue who was curled up under her blanket.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!” Tissue screamed from this sudden and unusual wake up call.

~*~*~Breakfast at the Koyama household ; ~*~*~

“Please Tissue, don’t stay mad at me! I just wanted to wake you up in my own creative way”, Kei pleaded with Tissue.

“…”, Tissue didn’t bother to look up at Kei, and continues to eat her onigiri. She wasn’t too thrilled with the morning wakeup call from Kei.

“Tissue, I was just trying to help!” Kei told her.

Mrs. Koyama whacked her son’s head. “You did enough damage already. Let her eat in peace. I can’t believe you sneak into her room and scared the hell out of her! Even the next door neighbour heard her yell!”

“But mom, she wouldn’t wake up when I told her gently…” Kei complained.

Mrs. Koyama took out a brush and raised it high like she was about to hit him. Kei backed away afraid that he’ll get the deathly brush beating from his own mom. Instead, she used it to comb down her son’s messy morning hair.

“Geez mom, I can comb my own hair”, Kei whines even though he kept still for his mom to finish combing his hair.

“Yeah that’s what you say, but yesterday, you went to school with messy hair before I could stop you. What would other parents say if I continue to let you go to school all sloppy like that?” she scolded.

“This is so embarrassing, right Tissue?” Kei glanced at her.

Tissue turned away. Kei thought that Tissue was still mad at him, but in truth she was thinking of her diseased parents. If only they were still there to scold at her about trivial things.

[Knock Knock]

“I’ll get it”, Tissue got up to open the door.

“Hello”, Massu gave her his usual cheerful smile that would melt away any sorrow she had right then.

Tissue smiled back, “Why so early today?”

“Yeah, I want to get up extra early to see you”, Massu replied.

Tissue blushed, “Don’t make up lies to make me happy.”

“I’m not lying”, Massu swears.

“Oi Massu, you early today! Hold on, I will be right there”, Kei ran upstairs to grab his school bag.

Massu winked at Tissue, “Let’s go to school first. It’s punishment for bugging you so early in the morning.”

“How did you know about this morning?” Tissue asked, shocked that Massu knew about the ‘Sailor Kei Attack’.

“I heard you screamed, and the only one that would bug you so early in the morning would be Kei”, Massu chuckled.

Tissue was worried that maybe the whole neighbour heard her scream.

As if Massu knew what was on Tissue’s mind, Massu reassures Tissue, “Don’t worry; I’m sure the neighbours just thought that Kei fell down the stairs.”

Tissue laughs, “You may be right.”

Since, it was still early, Massu and Tissue decided to walk to school. Throughout their walk, she noticed everywhere there are happy families. A mommy taking a walk with her kid… A father driving his daughter to school… A puppy playing with a stuffed bear with its mommy dog… A mommy bird feeding her baby birds with worms… How come everyone seems to be so happy? Why does it seem that Tissue is the only one with no family at all? Tissue gloomily thought this as she walked beside Massu.

“Tissue… Are you oka…?” Massu wanted to ask what’s wrong, but when they got to the school gate, they noticed Kame and his pals were hanging out in the front entrance. Massu made a face because he knew that Kame would try to hit on Tissue. For some reason, since the first day, Kame wouldn’t stop bothering her. He would always try to ask her out, give her gifts, and flirt with her. Tissue would always ignore him and often times Anzu or Massu would come to the rescue.

“Hey girl, it makes me so happy to see you”, Kame was heading towards Tissue.

“Get a life”, Tissue glared at Kame and walked past him.

Massu was really worried about Tissue because this was not her usual response.

Kame shouted so that she could hear, “I think Anzu is influencing you too much Tissue!”

Massu ran up to Tissue, “Are you okay?”

“I… Massu I’m okay. Don’t worry about it”, Tissue strained a smile. “Let’s get to class.”

Massu still had doubts, but followed her anyways.

Five minutes before the bell, Kei showed up in class, with an angry face.

“Why didn’t you wait for me?” Kei looked very pissed.

“I want to spend time alone with Tissue”, Massu put his arm around Tissue.

Mr. Yuu, their homeroom teacher clears his throat, “Ahem, class has started, please refrain from flirting until after class.”

Both Massu and Tissue blushed while the whole class was in an uproar with laughter.

“Okay so now, let’s start with attendance…” Mr. Yuu began.

Anzu passed a note to Tissue.

(Oi, are you okay? You look lost in thought today.)

Tissue smiled at Anzu’s random thoughtfulness. She wonders why people think Anzu is all gangster and scary. Although Anzu rarely opens up to her, but Anzu, in reality, is really nice.

Tissue passed a note to Anzu.

(I’m alright. I’m just tired that’s all.)

This is a lie, but Tissue didn’t want to bother others with her troubles.

Anzu writes back.

(I heard that Kei gave you a scary wakeup call this morning.)

Tissue writes back.

(Does everyone know this?)

Anzu writes back.

(His mom told my mom and I think my mom told others…)

Tissue writes back.

(Oh no!)

Mr.Yuu passed Tissue a note.

(I know about it too, but please refrain from note-taking and focus on what is taught in class.)

Tissue glanced at the teacher with guilt. Mr. Yuu just smiled kindly and continued teaching.

Anzu passed one more note.

(I guess no more note passing. [Sticks out tongue])

Tissue writes back.

~*~*~Lunch Time~*~*~

Anzu whacked Kei’s head, “Why are you such a dork?”

Kei rubs his head, “My mom whacked my head twice this morning already. I don’t need more abuse.”

“Serves you right for doing the stupid Sailor Moon attack on Tissue”, Anzu gives him the finger.

“That’s SO ladylike,” Kei replied sarcastically.

“Whatever”, Anzu whacks his head again.

“Oi!” Kei yells.

Massu whacks Kei’s head too, “You deserve it. Apparently even Mr.Yuu knew about it. Do you have any shame?”

“I was showing my love for Tissue!” Kei hugged Tissue.

“I don’t need that kind of love”, Tissue laughed.

“You’re not angry no more?” Kei looked at her with pleading puppy eyes.

Tissue whacked Kei’s head, “Now I’m not mad anymore.”

Kei grins while the other two smiles at Tissue’s kawaii-ness.

Tissue is really happy to make these 3 friends, but she still felt deep sorrow from the lost of her whole family in that fire a couple months ago.

“Tissue you spaced out again. Are you sure you fine?” Massu pokes Tissue lightly on the arm.

“Yeah…” Tissue fakes a smile.

Massu knew something was up, but he isn’t sure what it was exactly.

[Bell rings]

“Let’s go back to class”, Tissue was glad that the bell saved her from further questions from Massu.

~*~*~After school~*~*~

“I need to go washroom”, Tissue told Massu, “Go on ahead without me.”

“I’ll wait”, Massu said.

“I want to go somewhere alone…” Tissue shrugged.

“Okay.” Massu didn’t want to leave without her, but he wanted to give her some space.

Tissue hurried to the bathroom. Actually, she didn’t need to go to the bathroom, but wanted to create an excuse to avoid Massu’s questioning.

As soon as Tissue walked out of the washroom, Kame grabbed Tissue’s hand and dragged her into his car. Tissue tried to yell but Kame just covers her mouth with his hand.

When they got into the car, Kame locked the doors. It’s the kind where only the driver can unlock it. ;

Tissue panicked while trying to open the door, “Massu…”

Kame asked with annoyance, “Why are you so attached to Massu?”

“Cause he’s my friend”, she simply replied.

“Oi, that is some weird relationship you have with him”, Kame pointed out.

“Cause he’s the only family I got!” she yelled. Tissue covers her mouth. It finally occurs to her that even though she had lost a family, but she also gained a new wonderful family.

Tissue’s family:
-Anzu = her mommy
-Massu = her daddy
-Kei = her brother (annoying though, but sweet at times)

Not to mention Kei’s family has treated her with kindness, as if she was their own daughter. She realized that she should not dwell onto her past forever. Instead, she will treasure the people around her. In truth, if the people she cares about are happy, it makes her happy too.

Then she saw Massu as the car drove by, “I want to get off the car now!!!”

“I want to take you out for dinner, why would I let you down?” Kame kept on driving.

Tissue was close to tears, “Onegai…”

Kame sighs, stops the car, and unlocks the door. Tissue got out of the car. She then ran the other direction towards Massu.

“Why were you in Kame’s car?” Massu asked with concern

“He kidnapped me”, Tissue said honestly.

“I’m going to beat him up”, Massu clenches his fist.

Tissue hugs Massu tightly, “Massu you are very important to me. Onegai, don’t ever leave me!”

Massu realized that maybe Tissue was missing her family, “Wakatta. I will never leave you. And please never leave me too.”

“Okay.” Tissue cries, still hanging onto Massu.

From afar, Kame watches the two, “I think maybe it would be hard for me to separate those too. I think I will give up. Besides, there are more than one fish in the pond.” Kame smirks, then went back into his car, and drives away.

Chapter 01: Hitomi's Chapter [May 26, 2006 @ 8:11pm]
[ mood | blank ]
[ music | Osaka Blues by Kanjani8 ]

Chapter 1
Writer: Mirah

April

"Ohayo~ Genki desu ka?" Hitomi was talking on the phone very early in the morning, around 4 am. Her face seemed very tired from the night before, she stayed abit late for club practices to help clean the floors and clean the basketballs. She also had to work at her family's ramen shop abit late. Her eyes were red with black circles around them, her hair and clothes were also a mess. Although she seemed like this, she seemed very cheery on the phone.

"Un~ I've been very busy, but I will meet you after club practices tonight. Please don't wait for me, kouhai's seem to be the busiest!" She laughed, and you could hear a dry and harsh laugh on the other line, even though it was like that it was a very cute laugh to Hitomi.

"Un~ I must help do the preparations for Otou-san, Oka-san should be arriving there for a visit..It's suppose to be a surprise, so act surprised, ne?......Ja ne~!" Hitomi hung up the phone and went straight to the kitchen. She saw her father preparing some ramen and dropped some into a big bucket of water to soften them up abit. Hitomi went into the fridge to get some lettuce and other vegetables to cut up. Her dad walked up to her and smiled.

"You're becoming good with the knife, maybe you can look after the shop when your Mom and I are gone." Hitomi stopped cutting and look directly at her fathers eyes. In her heart she couldn't bare the thought of her parents passing away or her life without them. Inside she was crying, but on the outside she was smiling because she knew how much this shop meant to her father.

"I'll try my best, Otou-san." She continued chopping some green onions until they heard their front door slide open.

"Ohayo~" said the young man who had just entered. Hitomi and her father thought it was a guest wanting to have some ramen for breakfast so they both went to answer the guest at the front.

"Ryo-chan?" Hitomi was surprised to see Ryo come by her house so early. Yamapi and Ryo don't like to wake-up early unless they really need to.

"Ohayo Hitomi-chan. Ohayo Fujiwara-san." Hitomi was even more scared when Ryo used her actual name while being very polite.

"Ohayo! Would you like some breakfast, Ryo-chan?" Hitomi's father offered. But Ryo declined the offer with a slight wave of his hand.

"I actually came here to walk Hitomi to school." Hitomi flinched and her father laughed. Hitomi shot a look at her father and he immediately stopped laughing.

"I'll leave you two alone." Hitomi's father said before he left the room to continue washing the ramen. Hitomi sat on a chair near Ryo to continue their conversation. Ryo took his shoes off and sat beside her.

"You came to pick me up?" Hitomi asked. Ryo wouldn't look at her he just looked away from her or at the table. "Oi! I'm talking to you!"

"It wasn't my idea; Yamapi somehow forced me to walk with you to school."

"I don't know why he'd want you to walk me to school, my legs are fine, I'm not sick, I'm perfectly healthy... So I don't need you to escort me." Hitomi got up to go straight to the kitchen to finish her morning duties but Ryo stopped her by grabbing her wrist. "What do you want, Ryo-chan?" He let go of her wrist and got up.

"I came here to apologize but you seem to not want it because you're so stubborn. I'll see you later, Hitomi." Ryo quickly got his stuff and exited the shop.

"...since when do you apologize to me?" With that Hitomi went back into the kitchen.
-------

Hitomi biked to school alone. She was wondering if Ryo ignored what happened earlier and came by her place to pick her up anyways, but she didn't think he would because he can hold a grudge. The weather today had a quiet breeze, and with little clouds in the sky.

"Ma~ It seems like Summer will be a good one." She took a big breath of air and exhaled with delight. "Yosh! I'm ready!" she quickened her pace on her bike indicating her full energy. Suddenly something caught her eye. She saw Ryo sitting near a Tofu shop, he looked very depressed so Hitomi stopped her bike and went to go see what was bothering him.

"Why is he always depressed?" Hitomi mumbled as she walked with her bike to meet Ryo. "Ohayo...” said she as she pouted. Ryo looked up; he looked as if he didn't want her company from the way his eyes ignored her presence.

"Yo... What do you want?" Ryo's voice sounded bored.

"...Well if you don't want me here I can leave." Hitomi jumped back on her bike. She was about to leave Ryo alone when Ryo sprang up from behind her and grabbed her shoulder.

"Why are you so moody?" Ryo said to her looking away from her. Hitomi's eyes blew up, she was gritting her teeth in anger.

"Me moody?! How about you?!" She growled back at Ryo. Ryo stood there ignoring her remarks when Yamapi came across the two of them.

"Oi!" He sounded so cheery, very unlike him in the morning. Ryo and Hitomi turned to see Yamapi as he smiled at them both. "I'm glad you two are friendly with eachother again." Yamapi caught the two of them in time, just as they were about to have a big argument at the Tofu shop. "C'mon you guys, we need to get going!" Hitomi dragged herself on her bike as Ryo slowly walked behind Yamapi.
--------

The three of them arrived to school and they noticed a rather large banner on the school wall saying:

"Sports Day starts in 10 days! Please Join us!"

Hitomi and Yamapi looked at each other in glee. They loved sports day, the fact that they could be competitive with others was a natural high for them. However for Ryo it was the opposite, he sighed at the thought of this "Special day" for Yamapi and Hitomi. Hitomi looked at Ryo; she completely forgot about their argument earlier and noticed how Ryo was acting towards the banner.

"What's so bad about Sports Day?" Hitomi asked as they continued walking to the bike racks.

"Just the fact that everyone will be forced to participate... and people will smell of sweat and everyone gets so competitive about the smallest things." Ryo didn't realize he was talking to himself and turned around to see Yamapi and Hitomi play fighting. Yamapi's hair was messy now because Hitomi had him in a headlock while Yamapi was tickling her. Ryo sighed and kept walking towards the school entrance as Yamapi and Hitomi ran after him.
-----------

The school bell rang indicating to the staff and students that Lunch was starting. Everyone exited the rooms. Students rushed to their lockers to grab their lunches, some other students ran outside to meet up with their buddies, teachers calmly walked to the staff room to eat their lunches.

Hitomi, Ryo, and Yamapi got out of Math. They were all talking about what they were doing lastnight since none of them spoke to each other lastnight.

"Did anyone watch Chubaw lastnight? The food looked so good! I hope when I get married my wife will cook great food!" Yamapi was smiling and fantasizing the thought of all the food he could eat. Hitomi rolled her eyes and Ryo laughed at Yamapi.

"You'd only marry a girl if she was good at cooking?" Hitomi asked as she stood infront of her locker. A girl passed by and looked at Hitomi; she was wearing alot of black. Yamapi and Ryo followed Hitomi's gaze and also saw the girl.

"That's Sumomo Anzu, you better not get on her bad side." Yamapi warned Hitomi. Hitomi quickly turned around to her locker for safety and her food.

"She looks like a bad person... but is it possible for everyone to be truly dark hearted?" Hitomi asked herself and her two friends heard her quiet voice and they also wondered themselves.

"C'mon, we should go eat under a tree today!" Yamapi sounded so excited. "I tried to make you two some sandwiches... but I sort of cut my finger when I was chopping the lettuce." Yamapi showed Ryo and Hitomi his bandage which he was about to open until Ryo stopped him.

"Ok... don't gross us out now before we start eating your sandwich." Hitomi laughed at Ryo's joke and Yamapi snickered along with her.
----------

It was the end of the day. Hitomi and Yamapi both signed up to be in basketball and Ryo signed up for Soccer. They both thought it was weird of him to pick a sport without being forced into it.

The three students were laying down on a hill that was facing a small river, they all looked at the sky. The sun was setting but it wasn't very late. Yamapi had a piece of grass in his mouth while Hitomi and Ryo were trying to figure out what shape the clouds were.

"That looks like... a raccoon but with a dragons' tail!" Hitomi joked. Ryo squinted his eyes and he couldn't see such a thing.

"How did you get a raccoon with a dragons' tail?" Ryo questioned her.

"I don't see it." Yamapi blurted, the two of them looked at Yamapi his eyes were closed shut.

"How can you say 'I don't see it' when your eyes are closed?" Hitomi glared at Yamapi.

"Anything is possible..." Yamapi sat up and looked at Ryo, "Just like Ryo playing soccer for Sports day!" Yamapi teased Ryo and poked him. Ryo glared at Yamapi and Hitomi laughed.

"You just contradicted yourself, Yamapi!" Hitomi stated to Yamapi who had a blank look on his face and noticed what he just said then went back to laying down on the hill. "Why did you pick Soccer?" Hitomi asked Ryo.

"...There was nothing else better." Ryo sounded like he didn't want to get into the subject.

"No... there's a reason." Hitomi started to poke Ryo and Yamapi smiled at the both of them.

"In soccer, I don't have to really chase the ball if I was on defense. I just need to protect the goal, so I can just stand there, not sweat and not look like a loser."

"Hey, don't make fun of soccer that way! If you told us you were going to do soccer I would've joined!" Hitomi looked at the sky; she wanted to comfort Ryo with his decision. If Hitomi had looked at Ryo when she said that, she would've seen a little smile on his face. Yamapi got up and then looked at his watch.

"We should get going.." Yamapi sounded abit lonely when he said that and started to walk by himself to the top of the hill which had a road at the top. Hitomi and Ryo looked at each other, they both shared a confused look.

"Yamapi? Wouldn't you join us in soccer?" Hitomi asked him, Yamapi didn't turn around. Instead he just shrugged. So the two of them ran after Yamapi, Ryo put his hand on his hair and shook it up as Hitomi nudged him. The two of them looked at Yamapi's face and he had a big smile.

"Let's go get some ramen!" Yamapi yelled. Hitomi pushed Yamapi to race her while Ryo stood where he was.

"When will I be able to tell her?" Ryo whispered to himself. Hitomi turned around and Yamapi turned his gaze along with her.

"Ryotan! Aren't you coming?" Yamapi hollered at him as Hitomi was waving at him to join them. Ryo ran to them as fast as he could, smiling.

Chapter 00: Part 1: Trangie Intro
Writer: Trang

“Stop 5, Waseda High School students.” As soon as the bus door flew open all the student carefully exited out the bus’ door. The same goes for Trangie as she pushed her way trying hard to not push anyone. Yet, it feels really weird because today no one was pushing her back or causing her to rock back and fore.

She looked back to see Uchi pushing everyone out of my way to make some room for her to move through. He didn’t carry Trangie admiring him. A slyly smile creep up on her face feet touched the ground of the sidewalk.

Uchi’s school is not very far from Waseda High. Everyday is the same routine for the two. Although Uchi only Trangie’s step-brother, he has done so much for her. Since she was little, she would always get bullied by her classmates. Uchi always protected her and see Trangie as his own sister. He grew up to be so protective of her. He is convinced that she perhaps will get hurt if he didn't walk her to school every morning.

“Ni-chan,” Trangie smiled as she called for Uchi. Uchi stopped walking and looked back at Trangie. They were getting close to her school.

“Here is enough.” Trangie continue to smile as she walked closer to him. Uchi’s hand starts to move upward, Trangie only felt Uchi brushing her hair with his hand. She couldn’t help but showed him a brighter smile.

“Right right, Trangie.” Uchi let out a small laugh as he took her hands off of his uniform. Uchi sighed looking at his younger sister once again as she said her farewell. Lately he haven’t had the chance to walk her to school, and he was worried someone will have the nerves to bully her. Before her sight disappear completely before him, Uchi turned to look back at Trangie.

At the far end of the road he spotted Jin, Kame, and Ueda . He do not have he best relationship with the three friends, but he wouldn’t say that they’re his enemy. As far ago, they have respect for each other and would not like to get on each other’s bad side.

“Ni-chann!” A voice rang through his ears, he turned back to see Trangie running towards him. “Trangie, what?” Uchi asked turning back questioning her as she slowly recover taking in air.

“Your lunchh, baka!” Trangie smiled as she took out a well packed bag pushing it into Uchi’s hands. She smile seems to never fade as she turn her back waving with love to Uchi, “Ja nee! Don’t be late for school, okie?”

Uchi couldn’t help but smile a little at his dear sister as she continued to make her way back to school. “Trangie, I’ll pick you up after school!” Uchi shouted loud enough for Trangie to hear him. She turned back waving once again, “Don’t be late!” Just as that she began to jog toward her school.

“Hiroki Uchi?” Jin whisper under his breath as Uchi walked pass him by without any notice. Uchi looked like he’s in an awful good mood. Who was that girl the Hiroki Uchi was smiling at? Jin turned the direction Uchi was walking from but only too see the girl from behind with a few friends now walking beside her. Her face was slightly turned to the side, she wore a bright playful smile as she laughed along with her friends.

Somehow, he really disliked that smile and laughter…. It really irritates him….

“She’s pretty cute, nee? Ueda said staring straight at Trangie too. Kame was the only one zoning out as a bike passed him by. It was no one other than Anzu with her black nail polish, riding her bike like it was a motorcycle.

‘Tsk, that girl…’ Kame thought to himself as he turned his head to where Jin and Ueda was looking, but there was nothing in sight now.

“Trangie, can you please drop this off for me?” One of Trangie’s friends handed her a few paper. Overhearing she was heading for the office and school is nearly ending she begged her to take the paper for her too.

“No problem,” Trangie gathered all of her belongings, she’s heading for the front office before heading home. Hopefully she did not force Uchi to wait for her too long.

“THANK YOU THANK YOU!” Her friend bowed to her as she ran out of the door. She is too heading for home.

Trangie rushed to the office in the hall. She feel guilty, what if ni-chan has already arrived and for him waiting for her. As she was thinking, she was not looking at where she was heading.

As expected, a stronger force she bumped into pushed her body back as she landed on her butt bones. She didn’t get as chance to fully look at the person she has just bumped into but being respectful she bowed her head low, “I’m sorry!” She pushed herself up her head still not meeting the person face.

Her head slowly looked up to meet the playboy of the school, Akanishi Jin. Their eyes met, Jin couldn’t understand why he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. She wasn’t beautiful, nor was she ugly. She was just normal, but yet…. Her eyes… He can’t read her, unlike all the other girls.

“Sorry..” Trangie bowed breaking the eye contract as she begin to head down the hallway again. She left the play boy in shock, ‘that girl, the one Uchi was smiling to today.’ He thought as he recalled from what he saw. He turned to see her disappearing down the stairs, what was left behind was a booklet. It looked like her student id booklet.

Jin gradually picked the booklet up, holding it in his hands.

“Oosaki Trangie,” Jin read the name out to himself. As he flipped a few more pages a picture falls and landed on the dirty hallway floor. He bend down picking it up. His eyes meet with Trangie smile and who was next to her was Hiroki Uchi.

The two seems to get along very well. Uchi wore a warm and kind smile in the picture holding up the V sign. Jin stick the picture in the booklet, reaching into his pocket he placed the booklet it there for safe keeping.

___________<3

“Ni-chan!” Trangie yelled, spotting Uchi under the willow tree outside the school gate waiting patiently. A lot of girls glared at her, they couldn’t believe it the “HIROKI UCHI” was waiting for this girl?

Although Trangie told them Uchi is only her brother, they do not look like family members at all. They have to bite their tongue because Uchi seems awfully close to Trangie.

“Trangie,” Uchi waved at his younger sister for her to come over. The two ask about each other’s day as they headed home together.

Chapter 00: Part 2: Hitomi Intro
Writer: Mirah aka Sampaguita

"Nee-san, let's stay up till the sun comes out ne?" A little girl said to another girl named Hitomi, as she climbed into Hitomi's bed. Suddenly, a dark figure appeared from the shadows and Hitomi could no longer see the little girl.

"That sounded like Kana-chan... was it Kana-chan?" Hitomi asked herself. A bright light appeared in the distance and it began to come closer to Hitomi. Hitomi wasn't quite sure what it was so she slowly began moving towards the opposite direction, away from the light, to prevent it from doing anything harmful to her.

"The sun is up Nee-san, the monsters are gone now!” Hitomi stopped running and realized that it was Kana's voice. Hitomi turned around and she realized that the light was even brighter than when she first saw it. Hitomi realized that she was standing atop a hospital's roof and she saw Kana running happily towards her. Hitomi bent down to catch her in her arms but Kana disappeared before she could catch her.

“Kana-chan! Doko iku no!?” Hitomi yelled. She prayed that Kana wasn’t being hurt. “Kana-chan! Where are you!?” Hitomi began to get very scared because there were scary sounds that began to come closer to her and strange images of large, wolf like creatures began to creep into her mind. “Kana-chan… where are you? Why aren’t you running to me?” Hitomi then fell to her knees and began to weep. “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to disappoint you. Please come back… I’m sorry for letting the monsters get you… please come back to me.” Hitomi began to weep even more. “Onegai… onegai Kana-chan… onegai…”

“Hitomi-chan~” Hitomi woke-up. "Hitomi-chan, doushita no? Why are you calling for Kana?" It was her mother. Hitomi looked around and found herself on the rooftop of their home. "Doushita no?"

"It's nothing... just a bad dream.” Hitomi removed herself from the chair she was napping on; she was already wearing her school uniform. It was a bit wrinkled from her nap but she ignored it.

“You’re father made some breakfast; you must go and eat before you’re late for school.”

“Haiii~” replied Hitomi, as if she was forced to reply.

“Why are you always up here during the mornings? You’ll get sick.”

“I’m fine. I’m going to school now. Ittekimasu~” Hitomi grabbed her school bag by the staircase.

------

"Ma~ It's too early to go to school." Hitomi looked up, and saw a crow flow over top of her and telephone wires crossing overtop of other telephone wires. Hitomi looked down sighing. "I wish it was the weekend.." Suddenly a grey cat stopped Hitomi's footsteps and snuggled Hitomi's leg.

"Nyaa~" It said.

"Ka...wa...ii~~" Hitomi knelt down and patted the grey cat, "Uwa! So soft.." She smiled at the cat as it purred.

"Nori-chan~" Hitomi turned around to see who was calling her, it was Yamapi. He was riding his bike to go to school. Yamapi and Hitomi have known eachother ever since their Junior High years. Yamapi and another friend of theirs, Ryo always called her 'Nori' because on the first day of Junior High their homeroom teacher asked them what was their favourite type of 'Sushi'. Hitomi wasn't listening to their homeroom teacher and thought he said, 'What is your favourite part of a sushi'. So Hitomi put down, 'Nori' everyone thought that was weird, especially Yamapi and Ryo because to them they thought that nori smells really bad, so they teased Hitomi by calling her 'Nori'.

"Yamapi-kun..you're early." Hitomi said to Yamapi, he stopped his bike beside Hitomi he patted the handle bar of his bike telling Hitomi to jump on. "I can walk."

"It's a long walk, Nori-chan."

"That's why I left early."

"You're in a bad mood."

"..You're so annoying." Hitomi muttered under her breath, luckily Yamapi didn't hear her.

"Nani?"

"Betsuni..ikimasu!" Hitomi jumped on the handle and urged Yamapi to bike.

--------

When they arrived to Waseda High several others students were also just arriving along with them, some on bikes, others walking or getting a ride from their parents or buses. Many groups were seen on random parts of the school. Goth's, Otoko's, Ganguro's, Trouble makers etc.

Yamapi and Hitomi biked past a few students to park Yamapi's bike with the other bikes. As they were parking the bike they saw Ryo, he was walking while reading a book. Ryo was the type of guy to fully concentrate on his books then ignore everything and everyone around him. The only way to get his attention was to take the book out of his hands, which he hates the most.

"How does do that?" Hitomi asked Yamapi as he was locking his bike.

"I don't know, let's go ask him." Yamapi grinned, quickly locked his bike and the two students ran to Ryo who dodged a few students crossing his path. "Oi! Ryotan~" Yamapi called. Ryo didn't take a glance up to see who called him. Hitomi took the book out of Ryo's hands, his face looked blank and slowly Hitomi and Yamapi could see fire in his eyes.

"Eeeh!!! He's mad!" Hitomi cried, she hid behind Yamapi. Ryo tried to take the book back from Hitomi by flailing his arms around Yamapi. Yamapi was laughing the two of them who looked like little kids, Yamapi took the book from Hitomi and decided to paly 'Monkey in the Middle'. Ryo ran after Yamapi to snatch the book back.

"Give me the book back! I wasn't even done the page!" Ryo cried.

"Pass it to me, Pi!" Hitomi called over to Yamapi, he quickly passed it to her when he got the chance and Ryo ran after the flying book.

"Hitomi, give me the book! You guys do this everytime." Hitomi ran away from the two boys laughing.

---------

It was lunch, and three students meet up on the rooftop of the school. Hitomi sat herself against the fence eating one of the sandwich Ryo made for the three of them, Ryo sat beside her reading and Yamapi was laying down on a ledge on the other side of the fence taking a small nap.

"I can't believe I missed out on club sign up yesterday." Hitomi had whinned as she stuffed her face with the delicious sandwich. Ryo made her her favourite sandwich, in which he didn't ike to make because the thought of him eating made him feel disgusted.

"Nori-chan, why did you not go to sign ups yesterday anyway? You sorta just left Pi and I at the front of the school waiting for you." Ryo put his book down then made a weird face when he saw foodmarkings on Hitomi's face.

"Un..You said you wanted us to wait for you at the front, but you didn't show up. Why?" Yamapi said now awake from his short nap.

"I had to do something important..I sort of forgot that I had plans."

"But you always put sports before anything, what was so important than basketball?" Hitmoi smiled and shook her head and continued to stuff her face.

"EHH!! NORI-CHAN HAS A BOYFRIEND~!!" Yamapi jumped up from the ledge and grabbed the fence almost knocking Ryo and Hitomi. Hitmoi flailed her hands signaling that there was no such thing, and Ryo looked abit disappointed then went back to reading his book.

"Not true! Ryo-tan, I'm telling the truth!" Ryo ignored what she said and kept on reading.

"You always tell us thing first, who is this boy? Have we met him?" Hitomi sighed, got up took her stuff and headed towards the staircase, she stood in the enterance of the staircase and sighed.

"I wish I could tell you guys the truth.." She whispered to herself, "But it's too much pain for me to reveal such things..It's so unlike me."

"I bet he must be really desperate to be with someone like Nori-chan." Hitomi overheard Ryo continuing the conversation with Yamapi.

"Why do you say that?" Hitomi could hear Yamapi climbing the fence, Hitomi knew that Ryo had a mean tongue, she decided not to listen to more of his words and went back to class.

------

The school bell rang notifying that classes has ended and students were to head to their club meetings. Hitomi, Ryo and Yamapi was at Hitomi's locker, she seemed abit annoyed by what Ryo said about her. She tried to make it seem like she didn't hear what Ryo said about her at lunch, by smiling and laughing. Ryo was talking to Yamapi about the beach and that they should go there for Summer.

"Ikkimasu! We must go!" Yamapi was very happy that Ryo brought up his favourite pasttime. "Nori-chan you want to join us?"

'I might be busy with my boyfriend.' Hitomi said to herself.

"Unless you're busy," Ryo continued Yamapi sentence.

"I'm not busy, make a date and I'll go. But I must ran to the gym and beg the coach to let me play." Hitomi closed her locker and ran to the direction of the gym.

-----

Hitomi arrived at the gym she saw many junior players and senior players and some students sitting on the benches, she didn't see the coach anywhere. She went inside the gym and grabbed a ball then went to one of the basketball nets to practice some shots, some girls were looking at her strangely they didn't see her the day before for sign ups so they thought it was strange that she could just walk in.

One of the sempai's, Yamada Koichi-san the captain of the third years team walked up to Hitomi and noticed how well of a shooter she is. Him and his team watched her play by herself, she didn't notice them watching her because they were watching her from the back.

"Oi..!" Hitomi turned around and saw the Third year team watching her. She saw Koichi-san and thought he was really cute. "You don't just walk-in the gyms without bowing to us." But when Koichi said that, Hitomi thought he was a jerk.

"Eh? Gomen nasai!" Hitomi bowed, and a bunch of girls laughed at her embarrassment. "How embarrassing.." Suddenly the gym went quiet.

"Yamada-san, line the juniors up." Hitomi looked up and saw a man his frame was thin but you could tell he had a toned body, his atire was all addidas, some of the girl students seemed very giggly when he walked in and he seemed to have alot of respect from his players.

"Yosh! Seretsu!" the majority of the people in the gym lined, but the girls that were sitting on benches sat there giggling still. Hitomi didn't know if she should line up or go directly to the coach. She decided to line up, she stood beside one of the girls on the girls junior team. Koichi placed himself beside the coach and whispered into his ear.

"You there." The coach pointed Hitomi, she straightened her body and listened carefully. "I don't remember your face here yesterday. Did you sign up?"

"I didn't sign up, Takayumi-sensei."

"Alright..it seems like you might need to do drills for today..Yamada-san, please instr--" Takayumi-sensei stopped talking and his attention went to one of the gym doors then everyone followed his stare, Hitomi saw that it was Yamapi and Ryo. They were both wearing gym clothes, Yamapi looked excited and Ryo looked sort of embarrassed.

"Nani?!" Hitomi said in utter amazement. "What are they doing here?" Yamapi and Ryo walked to the crowd of players and stood beside Hitomi then bowed.

"Gomen nasai~" They said in unison. Takayumi-sensei looked at his list of students to see their names.

"Etto..Yamashita Tomohisa-san and Nishikido Ryo-san. For being late you will join Fujiwara Hitomi-san for drills..Ok, everyone 3 sets of line makers for everyone then partner up with a sempai, instructions will be followed later."

"HAI~" Everyone chorused together, Koichi met up with the three students. Hitomi was felt abit insecure around him, she stood abit closer to Yamapi. Ryo looked at Hitomi he rolled his eyes.

"Ok, we're heading outside." Koichi ordered them, the three of them followed their Koichi.

"Why did you guys sign up for basketball?" Hitomi asked the two boys.

"Ryo-tan was wondering where you were, so he thought maybe you forgot about us and went to the gym." Yamapi patted Ryo's shoulder, he seemed abit embarrased, "So we got here and saw you weren't here, then Takayumi-sensei asked us if we wanted to join the junior team, we couldn't decline."

"Because of you, I'm not in the book club." Ryo complained.

"You do that on your spare time." Hitomi shot at Ryo.

"I rather do something I like, rather than something I dread."

"Well you don't need to be here if you don't want to." Hitomi marched off leaving the two of them alone.

"She's right, you don't have to stay. I'm sure the book club is still willing to take students." Yamapi tried to comfort Ryo from Hitomi's mean statement.

"Maybe I will go. How about you?" Ryo asked Yamapi.

"Well, at first I didn't know what club to sign up in..So that's probably why I didn't decline yesterday..Buti f you're willing to leave, you can. No hard feelings..Although, it'd be pretty lonely when there isn't the three of us." Ryo seemed to give the situation some thought, but he continued to follow Yamapi, Koichi and Hitomi outside.

-----

The three students were heading home from the club, it seemed like it was a very slow journey home from how the three students were acting between eachother. Ryo and Hitomi never really agrue with each other, usually it's Yamapi and Hitomi since they love to compete against each other.

The sky was giving the evening a sort of relaxing feeling with an orange and purple litted sky, it looked almost like a picture, this alone gave Yamapi a relaxed feeling but the tension between his two best friends brought him a very disgruntled feeling. "Come on you guys, you two never fight." Yamapi tried to lighten the mood. "There's always a first for everything." Hitomi muttered. "Well, if i'm not wanted I can just leave." Ryo got on his bike and biked away. Hitomi felt a bit hurt, Ryo never did that to her before. Ryo would always try to reconcile things with her so that they were on a good level, she almost felt like crying because it almost felt like Ryo stabbed her in the heart. "Nori-chan..I think you should talk to Ryo." Yamapi got on his bike as well and patted her shoulder. "I'll see you tomorrow." With that he biked away leaving Hitomi alone. "How troublesome.." Hitomi whinned to herself. She reached into her pocket and retrieved her cellphone and went to messaging selection, she found someone's number then typed, "Konbanwa~ I'm sorry I was late yesterday, please forgive me. I will not show up tonight, it seems that what happened yesterday between the two of us caused some problems between my friends and I. I'll try to come and see you tomorrow after club meetings. Oyasumi~" Hitomi sighed, then looked up at the sky, she noticed how relaxing the sky was. "Ma~ So this is what Pi means about how the the weather can give you such a feeling.." Hitomi looked straight ahead of her and remembered Ryo, "I wish I could tell you the truth.." Hitomi took a big breath and continued walking home.

Chapter 00: Part 3: Tissue/Terri Intro
Writer: Linh aka linh_chan

March

The rustling of the leaves… The roar of the thunder… The steady beat of the pouring rain… The contrasting mood of the Venus (T&T) ring tone of her cell phone… A motionless girl lay on the muddy grass…

Tissue was sinking deep into a hypothetical black whole. Losing everything she had to a fire, pain increased in her chest with every passing minute. Her whole family had died in that great fire: not even one was spared. There was no where to go, or no one to depend on. Tissue’s so-called best friend had brushed her away casually for a night of rendezvous with her boyfriend. There was no one that could save her that night. In least that is what she had thought at the moment.

Massu grabbed her up to her feet, still gripping his cell phone in one hand. He had tried to call her all night trying to surprise her with his sudden visit to Canada until he came to Tissue’s house and saw what was left was a burnt out house. He searched everywhere for her until he came by a motionless girl at a nearby park.

“Tissue! Do you have any sense to be in this pouring rain?” Massu asked frustrated.

“Massu?” When Tissue’s vision had focused a bit, she realized that her online buddy from Japan was standing right in front of her with an intense look in his eyes.

“What happened?” Massu tried to wipe her face with his dainty hands.

“I have no family, nowhere to go and no one to depend on. I don’t know what to do Massu! I wished I had died in that fire along with my family.” Tears dripped down her eyes all over again.

Massu wrapped his arms around her small body. “I know this might be too sudden for you, but how about you come to Japan as an exchange student at Waseda High School in April? My best friend’s ramen shop/house has a spare room for you to stay. You can work there for extra cash and rent. I’ll convince them to lower the rent for you.”

“But…”

“I can’t just leave you here like this. I want to take care of you. Although yes this is the first time we met in person, but you have always helped me when I was down with your kind words. You are the only one in cyber space that I can really connect too. Do you know how much you mean to me?” Massu took off his jacket and put it on Tissue.

“Okay”, Tissue replied quietly. If he had asked her a day ago, she would have flatly refused, but she had no other choice. Massu was the only friend left that she could trust solely on.

“Really?” Massu was surprisingly too happy.

Tissue nodded her head slowly.

“Okay let’s go to the hotel where I’m staying at to dry you off. Tomorrow we’ll worry about the paper work.” Massu crouched down with his back facing her.

“What are you doing?” Tissue asked quietly.

“I’ll piggy back ride you. I know you can’t walk properly after soaking for hours in the rain.” Massu replied.

“I don’t know…”

“If you don’t hop on anytime soon, I’ll soak in the rain with you till the morning.”

Tissue put her arms around Massu.

April

A new semester at Waseda High School…

Tissue held onto Massu tightly while he raced to Waseda High on his bicycle. Trees passed by like a blur. She is amazed at how professional Massu rides his bike. In a matter of minutes they had arrived at her new high school in Japan.

“So are you going to be okay?” Massu asked caringly.

“I think so. I just don’t know if I could get used to the Japanese school system. It’s a good thing I kept my Japanese language since I was a kid.” Tissue helped Massu put a lock on his bike.

“It would be all fine. I’m here to help you in every way I could”, Massu smiled his brightest smile.

(Sound of books dropping)

Tissue looked around to see a guy stomping on a girl’s textbooks and making fun of her. The girl kung fu kicked his butt and he flew towards Tissue causing her too lose her balance. In the end, the dude was on top of Tissue.

“Hey, you must be new. What’s your name? I’m Kame. Want to go DO something after school?” Kame flirted.

“Err…” Tissue didn’t know what to do.

Massu pushed Kame away from Tissue, helped her up, and held onto her hands protectively.

“What is the matter pretty boy? Is this your girlfriend?” Kame smirked.

“What if she is?” Massu glared at Kame.

Tissue’s heart skipped a beat.

The girl from before punched Kame’s face and his ‘nut’ really hard, “Just leave them alone. Go BS somewhere else.”

Kame was going to slap her face when he uh, recovered…, but Tissue screamed really loudly so that everyone was looking their way. Kame knew that the situation was turning against him so he just left saying, “You guys are not worth my time.”

“Hi I’m Tissue, what’s your name?” Tissue shook the girl’s hand.

“I’m Anzu.”

“Thanks for helping me.” Tissue smiled.

“No problem.”

“Let’s be friends.”

“Okay…” Anzu replied nervously.

“Don’t worry. When she says that, she honestly means it. That was how I met her online.” Massu chuckled at his first impression of Tissue.

“I made a new friend, so I’m really happy. Let’s go to class before we are late.” Tissue went on ahead. Tissue paused, “But I don’t know where our homeroom is…”

Massu chuckled. Surprisingly Anzu, the famous cold queen, smiled at Tissue’s cuteness.

Massu whispered to Anzu, “I’ve never seen you smile before.”

“I can’t help it. Tissue is so cute, sort of like by younger brother”, Anzu whispered back.

Koyama came from behind Tissue, “RAWRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!”

Tissue jumped like five feet, “KOYAMA!!!” Tissue slapped his back hard.

“Oww… That hurts.” Koyama complained.

Massu and Anzu pinched each side of Koyama’s cheek.

“Hey what is that for?” Koyama rubbed his cheeks.

“Hey don’t make fun of our Tissue”, Massu and Anzu said at the same time.

“Okay, okay I get it”, Koyama picked up Tissue. “Here I’ll treat you like a princess.”

Tissue blushed brightly. Massu grabbed Tissue away from Koyama, “She’s my princess not yours.”

Anzu just stood there laughing at the comedic situation.

“Why are you laughing Anzu? Help me stop them, or else I’m going to fall.” Tissue whined.

“Okay guys stop okay”, Anzu told the boys.

“I will never let you fall”, Massu let Tissue down gently and pecked her cheek before doing so.

“I get to kiss Tissue too!” Koyama tried to lean in for a kiss.

Massu dragged Koyama away while leaving the poor Tissue all embarrassed.

“You came from a different country right?” Anzu asked when the boys were gone.

“I guess my ascent didn’t disguise the fact that I’m foreign. I’m from Canada actually. I’m kind of nervous because Japanese is not my first language.” Tissue answered.

“Don’t worry you already have three friends here to help you. So don’t worry.” Anzu smiled.

“Okay, bring it on Waseda High!” Tissue yelled out as the school bell rang.

A new hope and adventure awaits Tissue…

Chapter 00: Part 4: Anzu Intro
Writer: Steph aka sumomo_yuki

“Anzu, look! You have a baby brother.” Father told little Anzu. She smiled for the first time today. She was worried for mommy and her baby in the tummy. Doctors were fussing around mommy. Baby brother was small and fragile looking that little Anzu had to kiss baby Yuuto’s cheeks. “Would you like to hold him?” Father asked. Anzu smiled and held onto Yuuto. Yuuto’s little eyes opened and smiled at Anzu.

She sat on her futon, scratching her head. Yuuto had slept in her room again. “Yuuto… time to get up.” “Ne-chan.” Yuuto mumbled as he latched himself onto her. They were supposed to go for their baths already. “Get up, you big baby.” Anzu repeated herself, slapping his butt. “Itai ne-chan!” He pouted. Anzu smiled. “Ne-chan is the best.” Yuuto said as he hugged her and then ran off. “I’m gonna be the first in the toilet!” He yelled. “Not fair!” Anzu bellowed and grabbed her towel. Yuuto got into the toilet first. Anzu sighed and went downstairs. “Ohayou, mommy.” Anzu said as she gave her mom a kiss. “Morning, love.” Her mom imitated an Aussie. “Get a cup, Anzu!” Her mom protested as she drank milk straight out of the bottle. Anzu chuckled and took a cup. “Ne-chan I’m done!” “Did you scrub behind your ears, brat?” Anzu yelled as she ran up. “Uwa!” Yuuto yelled as he ran to his room. Anzu chuckled as she headed for her bath.

“Ne-chan, ready?” Yuuto asks as he peeped into Anzu’s room. She just wore her black stockings and black Adidas sneakers. “MOU~~~ Gothic again?” “Yuuto.” Anzu cautioned him. He smiled and lay on her lap. “Aren’t we supposed to be in school?” Anzu asks as she caressed his head, just like what she used to do when he was a baby. She’d place him on her lap and make funny faces to entertain him while mom cooked. “Come on, let’s go.” Anzu said as she got up.

Their mom got into her car and watched the two of them leave on their high-end bicycles. Yuuto cycled in front of Anzu. Their school wasn’t far from where they lived. “Yuuto, Anzu ne-chan!” Yuuto rolled his eyes and stopped his bike and waited for his friends to bike over. “You’d be fine with them?” “They look up to you and won’t let any harm come to me.” Yuuto grinned. “We’ll bike together later, okay?” Anzu smiled at her younger brother. He nodded and smiled back. “Bye, love you.” Anzu whispered. Yuuto smiled. This was one side his friends will never see of her.

Anzu biked and stopped at a traffic light junction. Suddenly a car honked from behind her. Anzu didn’t need to look behind to know who it was. The moment the lights turned green she quickly moved away and cycled in the other direction. She entered school compound using the south entrance. She cycled to the north portion, going through the beautiful gardens of Waseda High. She heard a guy sing and saw it was Kamenashi Kazuya. She rolled her eyes and cycled away. He was singing to his fan club. “OI! Why are you cycling here!” One of the garden keepers yelled at her. Anzu merely smirked and cycled away. She parked her bike up against the wall like the rest of the bicycles and locked it. She greeted Tissue on her way in who smiled and waved at her.

Anzu sat at the back of the class like she usually does. The usual rich boy brats came in laughing and making fun of the girls as they came in. Ueda smiled as he came into the classroom. Anzu was unharmed and calmly looking through her manga that she brought along. The teacher wished everyone good morning and began teaching. Halfway during the lecture, Anzu fell asleep on the table. The only thing that woke her up was her handphone. It was Yuuto taking a photo of him, grinning. She smiled. Jin and Kazuya began talking to each other and plotting something. Anzu kept a weary eye on them. She stood up and looked at the teacher. “Yes, Anzu?” “Toilet.” Anzu mumbled and headed out. She didn’t bother to wait for the teacher’s reply. It wasn’t important anyway, as long she didn’t skip school all the time or create problems for the teacher.

She headed to the toilet and heard a few voices behind her. ‘There can’t be ghosts in broad daylight… Boys~’ She hissed in her mind. Anzu walked calmly to the toilet and entered the last one. She heard footsteps and some wooden planks being dropped. She frowned. Quickly finishing her business, she washed her hands and exited the toilet only to find difficulty in opening the toilet door. Anzu groaned. Judging the shadows that she saw through gap at the bottom of the door, they had placed a notice that the toilet is spoilt and placed a bucket with a mop at the door, blocking any form of exit or entrance. Anzu peeped through the window near the sinks. Her homeroom isn’t exactly far away from the toilet and there was ledge that trailed from the toilet to the homeroom. Sighing, she climbed out and onto the ledge. She walked past an empty lab.

She knew after the lab, it was her homeroom. Sucking in her breath, she quickly walked to where her table was, coincidentally next to the window and climbed in. Her teacher screamed causing half the class to take cover underneath their tables or run out of the class. Kazuya and Jin were stunned while Ueda began laughing at everyone. Anzu grinned to herself and packed her manga back into her bag. “What is the meaning of that, Anzu?” The teacher asked as she calmed herself down. “The toilet is closed; no one can get in or out.” Anzu simply replied as she stared at Kazuya and Jin who merely chuckled. The teacher continued with her lessons and then the bell rang. Anzu got up from her seat. “Where are you going?” One of the class prefects asked. Anzu smirked and continued walking. “Hey, I was talking to you.” The boy said. Anzu turned around and twisted his arm behind his back. “Out.” Anzu said as she bent him over and kicked his butt.

She headed down to the cafeteria to get some onigiri and headed up to the roof. It was the only quiet place in the whole school, filled with rich brats. She lay on one of the benches and ate her onigiri. “You scared most of us, did you know that?” Ueda said. Anzu choked a little. Ueda chuckled and slapped her back a little. “Ow, that hurt!” Anzu mumbled. “Sorry, you looked pretty choked.” Anzu gave him a look. “Then again I have never seen Jin or Kame freak out so badly.” Ueda chuckled as he wore his sunglasses. “What are you doing here?” Anzu asked. “Bored.” Ueda answered. They both sat back and looked at the sky above them. They sat next to each other, not exchanging a word between the both of them. It was only when the bell for break time that made Ueda talk. “Do you wanna eat?” “Nah, I’m going back.” “They’re teaching some crap later.” “I’ll pick it up.” Anzu muttered. Ueda shook his head. “It’s amazing that you skip school so frequent, and yet get straight A’s.” “Was home tutored for a few years. Learnt more than enough.” Anzu answered curtly. He smiled. “I’ll see you around then.” Ueda said as he tried to tease her hair. She avoided his arm.

Anzu managed to sneak around to get her bike and get out of school. She cycled to the nearby bookshop and was looking at books when she heard some familiar voices. “You sure she’s here?” “Yeah, her bike is parked outside.” “The owner is giving me the creeps.” “Don’t do anything while she’s in here. He’s a kendo master.” “Oh.” Anzu rolled her eyes. ‘Those boys have no idea of being discreet.’ Anzu thought to herself. She was paying the books when she heard them behind her. She winked at the owner and left. “Oi, where you boys going to?” She heard the owner asked. She quickly got her bike and cycled off. She was cycling halfway to her house when she felt like she was being tailed. It was Kamenashi’s car. “Great.” Anzu murmured and paddled quickly, weaving through the neighbourhood. The guys probably knew where she lived but then she wasn’t interested of leading them there. She managed to get home after confusing them at one corner. Sighing in relief, Anzu got back into her house and began peeling off her clothes. Mom and dad were off at work, Yuuto should be in school. She quickly changed into shorts and shirt, cooking her lunch. Her home tutor used to work for Waseda so he was familiar with their system of education. He taught her every subject she needed to know.

After lunch, she sat on the old patio and ate ice cream, reading newspaper and then drawing. Her brother messaged her saying that the drama club which he was in, was asking if she could design clothes for them. She smiled as she called him. “Yeah, it’ll be cool… you sure you’re gonna be okay with that?” She asked. “I’m in the drama club as well, and it’s better than wearing starchy looking clothes.” She heard him whisper. She chuckled as she lay on the patio. She was unaware of someone taking photos of her, chuckling and talking to her younger brother. “Okay then, just tell me when you need me to come over and I will.” “Hmm, after school ends, then we can cycle back.” Yuuto said. “Okay, I’ll see you after school then.” “Jaa ne-chan.” “Bye Yuu-chan.” Anzu answered and picked up her newspaper, sketchbook and all.

She relaxed and napped for a while. School was close to ending for today so Anzu wore her plain black plaited skirt, a purple suede long sleeve shirt and the grey hooded shrug with full chequered stockings and heavy boots. She stood in front of Yuuto’s class entrance while waiting for the bell. “3-2-1, ring.” Anzu chuckled. ‘Waseda schools never change.” Yuuto ran out of class to greet her. “Have you eaten?” Anzu asked him. He nodded. “Yuki ne-chan.” Half his class chanted. “Yo!” Anzu waved. Half the class emptied and began asking about anime, fashion, boys, and all sorts of stuff. “I will answer you guys later, alright? Yuuto, what about the drama club?” “Oh, yeah.” Yuuto grabbed his things and pulled Anzu to the hall where the club was going to hold their meetings. Since not many had arrived, Yuuto asked Anzu about a few maths questions. “Ah, Anzu-san.” “Miyaki-san.” Anzu said as she bowed. “Thank you for helping us.” The teacher bowed. After listening out to what they wanted, Anzu took their measurements and drew some things out. Later she got her bike and waited for Yuuto.

They raced back home laughing and taunting each other, unaware of someone watching them. Anzu helped Yuuto with his homework and greeted her parents when they returned from work. Both will be leaving for the USA soon and may ask their aunt to stay in with Anzu and Yuuto. “We’re still considering.” Her father teased Yuuto’s hair. Anzu smiled as Yuuto lay on her lap. “You’re being such a baby today.” She chuckled as she tickled him. He screeched and laughed while avoiding her tickles. The day went off like that, Anzu sat on her balcony while watching the sky, singing to herself while listening to her iPod. Her computer constantly ‘ping-ing’ with messages but she didn’t bother. It was the boys trying to annoy her. As usual. One day had gone by and she was tired.
